HOW WE BEGAN
There are a vast number of people who have given up on the church. Demographic studies confirm that upwards of 70% of our local population are not connected with any church. They have either left the church or feel they do not fit in the traditional model of today's church.
September 2012: Pastor Ken Weaver pursued a vision that God placed in his heart to create a new church whose sole purpose is to reach the people of this area who were without Jesus and who are unchurched.
January 13, 2013: LifeSpring Church began meeting at the home of Pastor Ken Weaver with twenty like-minded individuals who shared the same passion to begin a church in this area.
April 20, 2013: LifeSpring Church officially launched and began meeting at Bradford High School in Starke, Florida.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
ETERNAL SECURITY
Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by any self-effort of the Christian.
THE BIBLE
God's Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is equal with the God the Father and Jesus Christ. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and provides power for living and gives wisdom and guidance for doing what is right.
JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is the Savior of man, equal with the Holy Spirit and the Father. He led a sinless life and thereby was able to offer Himself as the perfect sacrifice for all of mankind
GOD
God is creator of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons – Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit. They are equal. They are one God.
BAPTISM
Baptism is by immersion as a symbol of Christ's death, burial and resurrection. Baptism does not save you, but shows that you have been saved.
COMMUNION
The Lord's Supper – An ordinance given to all believers by Jesus Christ to remember His sacrifice.
MAN
Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him and to have a relationship with Him. We are alienated and separated from God by our disobedience.
ETERNITY
Man was created to exist forever, either eternally separated from God by sin in hell or eternally in union with God in heaven.
SALVATION
It is a free gift from God, received only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness. Eternal life begins at the moment one receives Jesus Christ by faith.
